In this animation of Copernicus Program Sentinel-1 images you can see the surge of Arnesenbreen (bottom right), which commenced in mid 2016 and lasted a couple of years, and the surge of Nordsysselbreen which started in early 2024. It appears that the earlier surge was initiated at the glacier terminus (bottom-up), and the later surge started high up the glacier (top-down). You can download this mp4 animation to your computer by opening it in a new window and then saving. Happy viewing!
